LinQpay Inc., a leader in Mobile Payment Services, announced today, that it has become certified as both Systems Operator and Payments to Third Party Provider with the Payments Association of South Africa (PASA).
PASA is responsible for the management of the South African payment clearing system. It provides South Africa’s banking community with a safe and efficient environment to exchange payments; thus protecting the integrity of the payment system, managing the clearing and settlement of risks, facilitating access of participants on a fair and equitable basis and promoting communication between participants.
LinQpay joins all 23 major South African Banks participating within the certification and conforms to the National Payment Systems Act 78 and the South African Reserve Bank Directives 1 & 2.
PASA certification comes as a result of all major South African Banks and the South African Reserve Bank’s acknowledgment that non-bank service providers add value to the users of national payment systems and thus need regulation. Independent payment providers such as LinQpay’s innovative mobile payment processing services fall within the legislation.
